Figurative language.

This week we learnt all about figurative language. There are different types of figurative language. Personification, Onomatopoeia, Alliteration, Assonance, Rhyme, Hyperbole, Imagery, Repetition and Metaphor. There was a lot to learn in a week. I don't understand all of these aspects but I know a little bit.

On Saturday Mr Hendriks took 2 students to Wellington to play in the Chess Champions. Pareata and Sete were lucky enough to be invited. They left on a plane on friday. I wished them the best of luck and hope they win. They were also lucky enough to be sponsored T-shirt, jacket and rain jacket.

Personification Poem

The Storm

Thunder stomping shattering the ground
Lightning blinking like a flashing light
I hear the rain like bullets on the roof

As the storm died down
The sky had cleared.

Before we left to sports camp

This is our squad that went to Totara Springs. Before we left this is the picture we took. I was so excited to go since I went last year and knew how fun it was. We had trained for almost 3 months. Mr Hendricks and all the other teachers gave up there time for us. We got ASB bags and water bottles to keep. I was ready to hit the road. Let's hope we win some trophies!!.
