Bonfire night

In class the children made a Guy fawkes doll. We made him out of a lot materials like straw, clothing, sticks and plastic bags. We dressed Guy fawkes in a small t - shirt and a small pair of pants.  

Room 9 went around to rooms 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12

Thereafter, Rooms 9 and 10 went to the far end of school, next to the pool.  Here we had our bonfire and it was really hard to breath because of all the smoke.

The children then roasted marshmallows tasted like smoke and they were burnt

Finally, room 9 children had a lot of fun and then went back to class and finished there marshmallows.

Patterns and rules 17 October 2014

In this game I had a lot of fun playing it and it really helped me on finding the pattern of a rule. I started with the easy level and then I got up to the Medium level but it wasn't easy but I did it. You needed to know your multiplication in some of the examples  or else it will be very difficult. This game is challenging for me but I can improve a lot. This game has helped me understand a bit more of finding the rule now. I want more exercises like this so I can improve.

WALT: To make nets

This is my pyramid that I made in room 11. I thought it was a bit challenging because I have never done nets before but lucky I got help for my teacher Mrs.Ramkolowan. I had alot of fun making a pyramid but the only hard thing for me was drawing. If you want to make a pyramid you have to have a:

• Compass
• Ruler
• Pencil
• Pen
• Rubber

The next time we make nets I want to make a square based pyramid so I can do more nets.

Netball Training 23 July 2014

After Morning tea at 11:15am Room 9 had a session with a lady who teaches netball to kids. She came from Auckland netball to teach us netball skills.

First, all of Room 9 went up to the school court were we always do our sports. When we got there she asked us a few questions and then we got straight into netball. She said “ What do you do before you play netball?” we all replied “ Warm Up!” so we stood on the yellow line so we could warm up. Our first exercise was skipping then jumping side to side and front kicks, butt kicks and jogging. After that we were all pumped up and warmed up ready to do more. We got told to get into pairs Angelina and I quickly buddied up.

After that, we played a game called “fire and friendly“.  The whole idea of the game was that when Donna says “fire” you roll the ball to your partners knees but if she said “friendly” we could throw it as high as we could. We got into 4 groups and played a game where we had to shoot the ball through a hula hoop. There was another game where we threw the ball around.

When we all finished the other classroom came for their session with Donna. She asked us to come into a huddle and then we did some cheers. That was such a awesome session.

WALT: Play Fraction Games.

I played this game and I really enjoyed playing it. The game is simple it has two levels and these are my scores. All I had to do is use the buttons provided at the top and to make it the same number as the Denominator then click it to make the right Number as the Numerator when you’ve done that click on the right one to make the bug move there but hurry because time goes quick. The next time there is a game I want it to be about Geometry because I really want to learn my Geometry.

Diary of a Bakery Princess

This Diary is about a girl that never has time to be a normal kid because she’s constantly working at her family bakery after school and before school. She likes this boy named Daniel and he always comes into their bakery before he catches the bus and he goes and buys a apple pie every morning. She goes on the same bus as him. She really likes him a he’s in a band with some other boys. She goes to the dance with him and enjoys it.

WALT: Understanding Financial literacy  

I played a game with Angelina and it was all about Financial literacy. In this game the whole idea of it is understanding the words and knowing what it is. The game is  about picking up the card and then you read it and then match it and then put a counter on the one you think it is. The words that I really got confused with consumer, income, services, decision, trade-off,income, profit and choices and the other words I could understand which was cost, budget, goods, needs, wants, loan, spending and savings. The next time we learn something I want to learn Algebra.

My Maths Results

In this game I think it was easy for me but it was also helping me learn my times tables. In this game you have to get all the candy in the levels whenever you get a piece of candy it gives you a multiplication problem or division. This is a very good game for me and I want more games like this. The idea of this game is that you can chose your own times tables and then you have to try answer it. The next time we have a game on our sites I want it to have decimals and fractions in it.  

My division maths

WALT: Division   

I got all my division right and I got Six out of six. In this game it really helped me understand how to do my division properly so when I get an answer wrong I just go on to the other question. It also helped me do my times tables I played it over and over again so I can get it all right. It took me a couple of tries but I finally got it all right. This game was pretty easy for me but it was a lot of fun playing and learning at the same time.On my next maintenance I want to learn my algebra.

Get to know me.

Hi I am a Girl, I am 10 years old.  My name is Lauren.  I live in the Suburb of Mt Wellington, in Auckland, New Zealand.  I go to the greatest school in our area called Glen Innes School.  I am proud of my Green T- shirt  and Black shorts uniform and wear it daily to school.

I have hazel eyes, and long brown hair.  

The things I like doing at school are playing sports ,playing with my friends , chilling out in the shade, using my netbook  and I love Going swimming everyday is soooo cool.   I also love writing and updating my blog every week.. It is cool to see so many people from all over the world reading my writing.

Like all the students in my class, I like food.  I enjoy eating Butter Chicken , Fish & Chips, Pies , Burger King, and Mcdonalds, but my favourite is KFC .

I have many friends at school too.  In school we get together to play Basketball, Tennis, Handball, I love playing handball with my best friend, Angelina   Sometime we get together after school for a game of

handball.

Glen Innes is a Wonderful  place to be in.
